I would give Skilled Nursing 6 stars if I could. My wife and I have lived at Twining Village in a cottage for almost 5 years and my wife was recently in skilled nursing at Tyler Place [Twining Village's short-term rehab unit] for several weeks. I felt the level of compassion of the skilled nursing staff was extraordinary. At least 2 times, I was brought to tears by their generous hearts related to things they did for my wife, visiting with her when I was not there and cheering up her room with gifts brought when I was out.

If you have a loved one that you want the best of care for, I would highly recommend [Twining Village's] Tyler Place skilled nursing unit for rehab needs.

My Mother was recently there for short-term rehab. My family and I are so grateful to and impressed with the staff at Luther Crest. They treated my mother with respect and kindness. From the very first day, we knew our Mom was in good hands.

We moved here 16 months ago; we are so glad we did soon after we retired. Our cottage is amazingly comfortable and the campus is very open and attractive. We made friends quickly. We participate in many organized activities, dinners and trips. We also enjoy downtown Carlisle very much. I bike, swim and exercise almost daily. I have my own garden and admire the flowers around campus. Cumberland Crossings is a very nice place for us to be!

I just wanted to thank you for everything you did for us to make our living here possible. When we started out on this journey for housing we didn’t really know where it would take us but we did realize that physically we were not going to be able to keep our home going by ourselves. We had two things going for us that caused us to come here and investigate the possibilities. My background working in a personal care facility … taught me to accept the future and make the best of it. And the second thing is our strong faith, which we truly saw in action from our first visit here, putting our home up for sale and the actual sale within three weeks, allowing us to move here without the added expense of a bridge loan. Truly, God was guiding us all the way!

Now we are here and I love it and we are very comfortable and content here. We have never moved anywhere that we received such a warm welcome from our neighbors, who each introduced themselves the first week we were here … as well as those eating lunch at the café, who always invited us to sit at their tables.

Our cottage is very comfortable and cozy. We brought too much “stuff,” but will work our way through all those boxes in the second bedroom this winter and by spring will be able to recognize it as a sewing/craft room and office and whatever-else room.

We can’t say enough about the maintenance team. They are great guys, respectful, kind, professional and fun. We really appreciate them! I just wanted you to know how very happy we are living here. We were busy from mid September through October and now are ready to get into our lives at BVLV.

Diakon Senior Living - Hagerstown

I want to provide written commendation for and gratitude to the staff of the nursing care center at Diakon Senior Living – Hagerstown/The Ravenwood Campus.

My mother was transported to Diakon Senior Living to be closer to me. I remember those first evenings vividly as my mother and I were warmly greeted by nursing aides. My mother has serve physical limitations and the aides provided very attentive care that made us feel very welcomed.

In the months after our arrival, all interactions with the staff were friendly and personable. The expectations of care for a loved one come with high standards for family members who serve as health-care advocates, so it becomes easy to find fault in the demanding and stressful environment of the health-care field. Yet everyone at Diakon Senior Living, from the evening-shift staff to those at the front desk and in admissions, finance, activities, physical therapy and the many levels of nursing care, offered positive interactions and were both informative and encouraging.

In a meeting with the executive director, during which she spent two hours listening and answering any concerns, it became clear that the staff were guided by a skilled team leader. Her attention in an obviously full day was reassuring. I could tell other staff members admired her professionalism and guidance.

With sincere gratitude and thanks,

Jim
