As a long-standing organizational value, stewardship is a way of life at Diakon Senior Living. We take seriously the importance of responsible planning and management of our resources so that we can continue to provide quality services and offer new, innovative programs that help our residents thrive.
As a not-for-profit organization, Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries also looks to philanthropic partners in our communities to help make the most of our mission. The gifts we receive make an important impact for all those we serve – seniors, children and families – and especially for those with limited financial resources.
Benevolent Care
Residents living in Diakon Senior Living communities enjoy healthy, wellness-focused lifestyles and are living longer than ever before. As a result, some residents may become concerned that they will outlive the resources they set aside for future health-care costs.
Diakon Senior Living helps meet this potential shortfall through our benevolent care program. Benevolent care at Diakon assists residents who have legitimately exhausted their financial resources, allowing them to continue receiving care and services at the community they’ve grown to love.
Each year, Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries provides millions of dollars in charitable care.
