We were happy with our beautiful home on the lake in Boiling Springs; however, we started feeling overwhelmed by its maintenance. With both of us being “70 something” we realized we were somewhat house bound relative to its upkeep, not traveling as much as we would like and that financially, it was time to plan for our future home and care; not waiting for circumstances and having someone else make this decision for us. After a comprehensive search, we simultaneously said to one another “Cumberland Crossings, that’s the one!” Beautiful grounds, lovely mountain views, walking paths surprising us with wildlife, great dining, wonderful people who speak to one another, wave to one another, support one another; a staff that is so considerate to every need – social, medical – and in friendship. This is our home. This is Cumberland Crossings.
Life at Cumberland Crossings has exceeded our expectations. Tom sings in the chorus and enjoys the library and discussing history with other residents. Betty enjoys aquatic exercise, bible study, and volunteering in the gift shop. We are both still active in the Carlisle community while also enjoying the company of our many new friends. The most beautiful music in the world is the sound of someone else shoveling our sidewalk or mowing our beautiful green grass! We are active and healthy and plan to stay that way for a long time, but it is very good to know that, should we need it, help is right at hand, only a phone call away. Looking back, we can honestly say, we made the right move!
